So I was really bored with my blog layout so I gave it a lil renovation!

Let me know what you think!

Pictures.

Here are some pictures of the quilt I just finished and the one I am working on right now!

This is the newest rag quilt I made - it is all nautical theme. I love how it turned out.

This is the back, I used flannel and minky heart dots. So soft & cuddly!

& this is my current project. It's just a sneak peek for now!

Catch-up.

i. fail.

So my hubby is taking courses online working toward his MBA so the laptop has been monopolized by him for the past few weeks, meaning I have no time to get on here to actually post anything. but. I have figured out how to post from my phone via email so hopefully I will be able to post on a more regular basis.

ok. so catch-up on what has been going on lately.

1. We are officially on to cycle #9. I am now at the point where I am no longer suprised to see the one lonely pink line show up. I also told my mom that we were TTC. I wanted to ask her how long it took her to get pregnant with my sister and I. (2 -3 months both times) She was very supportive and mellow and not at all like I thought she would be. I asked her not to tell anyone else though because I really want it to be a huge suprise.

2. I have been uber busy making quilts. I think I am teetering on the verge of an obsession. I have not gotten any house work or laundry done properly for about 2 weeks now. Whenever I go to the fabric store I go a little crazy and then have to stop. look. and decide. if I really need enough fabric to open my own store.

3. It was our 2nd anniversary yesterday. I got B the BBQ he has been coveting and some bbq tools and a cover to go with it. He is all about practical gifts, so this was a perfect choice for him. Another case in point, he got me a gift certificate to the local nursery gardens and "1 1/2 hours of complaint free time while there" which is very cute of him since I am a huge procrastinator and take my sweet time, which he hates.

4. It is my MIL b'day today so I am going to make cupcakes this afternoon for her. I hope I can limit myself to just one....

5. I have bought the 30-day shred after reading on so many blogs that it kicks ass. We shall see if I can a) commit & b) stick it out if it causes pain, which I have a sneaky suspicion that it does.

Well, I think that is it for updates, like I said I have been busy! I promise I will try to update more often.

Bad Blogger.

So I have been super slack with the updates BUT I have an excuse. I have been busy being domestic.
I made cupcakes for easter, they were adorable and a huge hit at work and with the hubby!

Here they are in all their glory! They were delicious and very cute if I do say so myself!

I have also started quilting. Yes, it's true I have not touched, yet alone used a sewing machine since grade 8 which was, oh some 11 or 12 years ago. This is me who is averse to sewing on a button and would rather disgard the article of clothing sans button than actually sew it on.

Well, I am loving it. I have made 2 rag quilts so far (they're small blanket size) and I am actually quite proud of myself. Sure, they're not perfect by any means, my sewing skills are something to be desired but not terrible and I think they turned out preeetty darn good.

This is the boy one I made, the pic doesn't show the colours very well, but it is blues, browns and tans and an adorable print with trains, planes and automobiles!

And this is the girl one! This one I used 100% cotton fabric and then the flannelette inside! (the other one was all flannels) I love the combination of colours on this one too; greens, browns and purples. In the second pic the flash actually worked so you can see the colours a little better!

Our Easter weekend was great. I was off for four days and got the quilts done and started on to my 3rd one which I am very excited about the fabrics! Can't wait to show y'all!

We also started painting our house, we got 2 walls done, so we have a long way to go but once we get this one room done with the kitchen I will post some before and after pics. I also want to make some sheer curtains for the french doors, right now they are white and are just the ones that came with the house when we bought it. Not very chic.

I'm off to cut some fabric!

Naughty.

I was a bad girl yesterday. I went shopping. Again.

To buy what you may ask? The following:

(excuse the bathroom in the background.)

I think both the dress and the shoes will become staples for my spring/summer wardrobe for work. I wear mostly black and white to work so the shoes definately, and the dress looked amazing on with the tulip style skirt. I had to have it!

I also went to La Senza and bought a few necessities and the newest Estee Lauder perfume, Sensuous, which I have been waiting for forever to come out.

That's all nothing too crazy. Right?

Paradise.

Ok, so I guess it's time to update on the vacation that B and I took to Cabo San Lucas.

We left our rainy town on March 23 and arrived to a tequila sunrise in an amazing resort. We stayed at the RIU Santa Fe and got an amazing deal, I would highly recommend the RIU resorts, in particular this one. The grounds were impeccably clean, the service and people excellent and the food was great! We behaved ourselves quite well with the unlimited alcohol and tequila except for one night which I paid dearly for the next day. 7 times.

Cabo San Lucas itself was beautiful, we had a view of the famous arches! We took a water taxi one day over there to Lover's Beach and Seal Rock! No picture can do justice to how unbelievable it is. We also took a kayaking trip over there from the beach. On this day a pod of dolphins came into the bay which was exciting and then I saw a shark, not so exciting. We also went snorkelling and the fish in that area were phenomenal. (I am trying not to use the same adjectives, it's getting tricky!)

Overall, we had a blast, alas I did not come home pregnant, I am bleeding like a stuck pig today, but it was by far the best vacation spot I have been to to-date.

A few memories of Cabo.

Here's a small compilation of the 500 and some pictures that I took while we were on vacation. I will write a full post on the deets later.

Well that was a let down.

So I thought that Twilight came out TODAY! Not tonight at midnight!

Oh how I love/l.o.v.e/LOVE Edward Cullen.

I am home alone tonight and was beyond excited to watch it with a big bowl of popcorn and some type of delicious cocktail. Instead I am watching a re-run of Real Housewives OC and playing Sorority Life on Facebook, which by the way is AWESOME.

I added it just to become a "sister" to a friend and now am completely addicted.

Another let down today? The weather, so much for the 1st day of spring. It was cold, windy and there was some freak rain/hail/wind storm where we almost lost power. Blah hopefully it gets better.

4 days.

Until we leave for Cabo San Lucas!!! Woohoo.

If it is half as nice as the spot in this picture, I will be a happy woman.

The weather here has been so crap lately I can't wait to feel the sunshine on my face. I enjoyed an hour and 1/2 pedi yesterday complete with parrafin wax and my tootsies look & feel awesome!!

Here they are in all their glory! (cameo of new sandals)

As far as TTC goes, I decided not to temp this month since it is completely unrealistic to temp while in Mexico so that's out the window this cycle and what will be will be.

Maybe we will come back with a nice lil mexican suprise! :)

Happy St Patrick's Day

To celebrate this joyous day I consumed 3 of those delicious delicacies that you see below: Tracycakes MintPatties. They are moist chocolate "babycakes" filled with a light fresh whipped cream and topped with mint buttercream and chocolate shavings. Tracycakes is a coffee shop that specializes in cupcakes and also serves homemade soups and "high tea" which I'm yet to try.

On to other news, I dropped a bomb yesterday shopping. I went with my sister to get a few things for our trip which is in 6 SLEEPS!!! and came home with a shitload of stuff. 2 purses; vitally important, a dozen or so tank tops, a gorgeous sundress & some shorts.

oh and these (sorry it's so tiny)

I might of got in trouble from B about how much I spent but I think it was all things that were very much needed & in my defense I did buy him a thing or two as well.

Completely of that topic now and on to American Idol. I am super stoked for it tonight, I can't wait to watch Adam. ::swoon:: I heart him.

In TTC news I temped for the 1st time this morning for this cycle and it is still in the pre-O range so I haven't missed it.

Fail.

I've failed at a few things lately.

one. I was going to start temping again this morning now that AF is gone. My alarm went off and the last thing I wanted to do was put that stupid thermometer in my mouth and stagger to the bathroom to record the temp.

two. I was only going to have one, ONE martini last night since I was going to have such a busy day at work today. Well one turned to two and so on until I consumed FOUR. How can I say no to Espresso Kiss martinis, there's just no way.

three. I ate a donut today. That definately won't help my quest for 19 lbs lost in 9 days.

All of the above indicates to me I have zero willpower.

Friday, March 13, 2009

so it's Friday.

& I have nothing to be excited about by this fact. I had a shitful day today & I still have work tomorrow and it is shaping up to be crazy one with co-workers getting ready for Spring Break vacation next week.

I just want to sleep in and wake up at a decent hour to the smell of coffee & pancakes. mmmm

There's always Sunday.

WTF Bump.

ok bump a 'lil warning would be nice.

You can't just cut the site for several hours of "maintenance" without giving a forewarning. Granted it is later at night, however I need something to occupy my evenings.

In future please place an announcement somewhere on the site.

Thanks.

Heaven.

Have I ever mentioned how much I l.o.v.e Vanilla Earl Grey Tea Mistos from Starbucks.
I love them in a way that is completely unhealthy.
Smooth vanilla, creamy milk, sooo delicious.

::drool::

I am not ashamed to say that there are some days I go there twice. Like today.

Tuna.

That is what my office smells like.

I just realized that sounds bad, allow me to explain. I work late on Wednesday nights and eat my dinner at work.Well tonight I had tuna and a spinach salad and since I had a ton of work to do I thought I would eat it at my desk.Well don’t you know a client comes in early and there is still a definite lingering smell of tuna in my office.

Pleasant.

Possible.?.

I am officially screwed. Where did those 2 months go that I had to lose 20lbs before our vacation to Mexico? It is exactly 12 days until this body is to grace the beaches of Mexico and I have lost 1 of said 20 lbs. What are the odds that those 19 lbs will melt away in that short amount of time? This is so completely doable, right? RIGHT! Watch out B, cause when I don’t eat this bitch is not happy!

ETA: in case y'all were wondering, B is my delicious hubby. That is how I shall refer to him.

Proof.

I has it. I have proof that B wants a baby just as much as me! I know he agreed and all but sometimes I wasn’t sure if he felt the “need” the sameway I am. Well, today we were in Starbucks and looking out the window to the school field and a little boy was playing in the mud getting right dirty and the look on B’s face said it all! “I want one.” It was the cutest thing I have ever seen.

I cannot wait for the day when we have one of our own.

The time has come.

For me to join the blogosphere.!. I honestly can’t stop reading them, granted some are lame and I have a sneaky suspicion mine may be one of those, however even if y’all don’t like it, it will give me a place to vent and something to look back on.
