So I was really bored with my blog layout so I gave it a lil renovation!

Let me know what you think!

Pictures.

Here are some pictures of the quilt I just finished and the one I am working on right now!

This is the newest rag quilt I made - it is all nautical theme. I love how it turned out.

This is the back, I used flannel and minky heart dots. So soft & cuddly!

& this is my current project. It's just a sneak peek for now!

Catch-up.

i. fail.

So my hubby is taking courses online working toward his MBA so the laptop has been monopolized by him for the past few weeks, meaning I have no time to get on here to actually post anything. but. I have figured out how to post from my phone via email so hopefully I will be able to post on a more regular basis.

ok. so catch-up on what has been going on lately.

1. We are officially on to cycle #9. I am now at the point where I am no longer suprised to see the one lonely pink line show up. I also told my mom that we were TTC. I wanted to ask her how long it took her to get pregnant with my sister and I. (2 -3 months both times) She was very supportive and mellow and not at all like I thought she would be. I asked her not to tell anyone else though because I really want it to be a huge suprise.

2. I have been uber busy making quilts. I think I am teetering on the verge of an obsession. I have not gotten any house work or laundry done properly for about 2 weeks now. Whenever I go to the fabric store I go a little crazy and then have to stop. look. and decide. if I really need enough fabric to open my own store.

3. It was our 2nd anniversary yesterday. I got B the BBQ he has been coveting and some bbq tools and a cover to go with it. He is all about practical gifts, so this was a perfect choice for him. Another case in point, he got me a gift certificate to the local nursery gardens and "1 1/2 hours of complaint free time while there" which is very cute of him since I am a huge procrastinator and take my sweet time, which he hates.

4. It is my MIL b'day today so I am going to make cupcakes this afternoon for her. I hope I can limit myself to just one....

5. I have bought the 30-day shred after reading on so many blogs that it kicks ass. We shall see if I can a) commit & b) stick it out if it causes pain, which I have a sneaky suspicion that it does.

Well, I think that is it for updates, like I said I have been busy! I promise I will try to update more often.

Bad Blogger.

So I have been super slack with the updates BUT I have an excuse. I have been busy being domestic.
I made cupcakes for easter, they were adorable and a huge hit at work and with the hubby!

Here they are in all their glory! They were delicious and very cute if I do say so myself!

I have also started quilting. Yes, it's true I have not touched, yet alone used a sewing machine since grade 8 which was, oh some 11 or 12 years ago. This is me who is averse to sewing on a button and would rather disgard the article of clothing sans button than actually sew it on.

Well, I am loving it. I have made 2 rag quilts so far (they're small blanket size) and I am actually quite proud of myself. Sure, they're not perfect by any means, my sewing skills are something to be desired but not terrible and I think they turned out preeetty darn good.

This is the boy one I made, the pic doesn't show the colours very well, but it is blues, browns and tans and an adorable print with trains, planes and automobiles!

And this is the girl one! This one I used 100% cotton fabric and then the flannelette inside! (the other one was all flannels) I love the combination of colours on this one too; greens, browns and purples. In the second pic the flash actually worked so you can see the colours a little better!

Our Easter weekend was great. I was off for four days and got the quilts done and started on to my 3rd one which I am very excited about the fabrics! Can't wait to show y'all!

We also started painting our house, we got 2 walls done, so we have a long way to go but once we get this one room done with the kitchen I will post some before and after pics. I also want to make some sheer curtains for the french doors, right now they are white and are just the ones that came with the house when we bought it. Not very chic.

I'm off to cut some fabric!

Naughty.

I was a bad girl yesterday. I went shopping. Again.

To buy what you may ask? The following:

(excuse the bathroom in the background.)

I think both the dress and the shoes will become staples for my spring/summer wardrobe for work. I wear mostly black and white to work so the shoes definately, and the dress looked amazing on with the tulip style skirt. I had to have it!

I also went to La Senza and bought a few necessities and the newest Estee Lauder perfume, Sensuous, which I have been waiting for forever to come out.

That's all nothing too crazy. Right?

Paradise.

Ok, so I guess it's time to update on the vacation that B and I took to Cabo San Lucas.

We left our rainy town on March 23 and arrived to a tequila sunrise in an amazing resort. We stayed at the RIU Santa Fe and got an amazing deal, I would highly recommend the RIU resorts, in particular this one. The grounds were impeccably clean, the service and people excellent and the food was great! We behaved ourselves quite well with the unlimited alcohol and tequila except for one night which I paid dearly for the next day. 7 times.

Cabo San Lucas itself was beautiful, we had a view of the famous arches! We took a water taxi one day over there to Lover's Beach and Seal Rock! No picture can do justice to how unbelievable it is. We also took a kayaking trip over there from the beach. On this day a pod of dolphins came into the bay which was exciting and then I saw a shark, not so exciting. We also went snorkelling and the fish in that area were phenomenal. (I am trying not to use the same adjectives, it's getting tricky!)

Overall, we had a blast, alas I did not come home pregnant, I am bleeding like a stuck pig today, but it was by far the best vacation spot I have been to to-date.
